Provider Resources and Education
Procedures such as Cataract, Refractive, Corneal, and Glaucoma surgery must be approached with a great deal of consideration. Careful patient selection, superior technique, appropriate treatment, complication management and excellent follow-up help to ensure optimum outcomes. Our goal is to bring ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians and ancillary ophthalmic personnel together to deliver the most efficient and highest quality eye health care!
In this rapidly advancing field , continuing education (CE) is essential to maintain the highest standard of care for our patients. Our wide variety of CE programs are fully accredited by the Ohio State Board of Optometry.

Ocular Disease Externship – Ohio State University College of Optometry
The Erdey Searcy Eye Group is committed to providing educational opportunities to eye care professionals within our community and beyond. In addition to our continuing education seminars for area optometrists and our accredited residency program for newly graduated optometrists, we host two student externs from The Ohio State University College of Optometry each quarter. During this three month period, these student doctors are exposed to diagnosis, treatment, and management of visual disorders, including a weekly didactic lecture series. Their primary focus is patient care and, under the mentorship of our staff ophthalmologists and optometrists, all of whom enjoy faculty appointments at The Ohio State University, they gain valuable experience and hone critical skills.
Optometric Residency Program
Established in 1995, and affiliated with The Ohio State University School of Optometry, it is the only optometric residency offering a private group ophthalmology experience in Central Ohio.
